From my experience in animal care, I thought I'd add to this one. Dawn won't instantly kill fleas, however it is the ONLY thing you should bathe your dog in unless a vet prescribes a special shampoo for a skin condition. Most commercial pet shampoos are dangerous because they contain harsh chemicals.
