DART bus ablaze on I-30

DALLAS, Texas (WFAA ABC 8) - A Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) bus caught fire on the Interstate 30 bridge over the Trinity River Thursday morning. No injuries were reported.

The fire, which appeared to be centered in the rear of the familiar yellow bus, sent a plume of thick, black smoke into the sky.

Eastbound traffic on the highway was shut down for more than an hour while firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and assess any potential risks.

The first time I've heard of that incident was when The Weather Channel was showing the traffic reports on their Local On The 8s segment at 9:58AM CST.

Wow, scary stuff. Luckily no one was on the bus. I wonder if it was a fuel leak, or an electrical short in the wiring? :hmm:

I ask that, because I imagine that its a diesel bus and diesel fuel does not catch fire that easily... at least not as easily as gasoline.
