No evidence of foul play, huh?
IMO, that rules out only one possibility, but still leaves two -- accidental overdose vs. intentional overdose, and I'd like to know how or if they ruled out an intentional one.
A person who is physically ill on top of being emotionally depressed could be more likely to experience suicidal thoughts. From what I've read, she felt like crap for days and was just beginning to show a bit of improvement in her physical health. Imagine being grief-stricken over the death of your son and then being bed-ridden with a debilitating fever and infection for days. You have no strength, no get-up-and-go, no life in you. After some treatment and rest, you finally begin to feel a little better. But then, you see Rosie O'Donnell on TV saying, "If I have to see [you] one more time on television...." Many times, a person who kills him/herself won't do it while they are in their most extreme state of depression because they simply don't have the energy to carry out the act. Instead, it is only after they have devised a plan and feel an increase in energy (obviously, not a boundless supply) that they can act on those intentions.
I'd hate to think that's how she died, but I'm not convinced it wasn't. Then again, it's better for her family that the investigation not dwell on the issue.
