NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#1 Postby BUD » Sun Oct 07, 2007 7:32 pm

I work the dairy department in Walmart, we had a good size dairy truck. I was in the cooler with another associate and I was helping to break down a palet of stock. I found a case of backstock that would not go on the shelf. I told her that this is backstock has to go on the steel shelves behind her,so I took the case threw it up on the shelf was up high, it fell off about three feet next to her. We are not alowed to use ladders in the cooler. After this nehappened ""she"" went to an assistent manager on duty and told I threw the box at her. The manager told that she wanted my side of the story. She was not happy with the verdict so it is now blown out of proportiens. She went and got the boyfriend involved in which he works third shift at Walmart. I think he will not let it go until Iam fired. Now he is adding stuff that is not true including racial slurs and calling her chunky. Iam afraid of being fired for something I didnot do. Now the boyfriend is also getting his mother involved and she is a cashier at Walmart. And the boy is nothing but a trouble maker, putting ideas in the girls head. I need advice do I need a labor board attorney???????????? The verdict the girl is not happy with either is the boyfriend.

If you're being harassed by any of them, I'd report them to your assistant manager. You don't need to work under conditions like that. Let the company handle the situation for now or see if you can change to a different shift or department or even a different Wal-mart if it becomes too much.

Don't hire an attorney unless Wal-mart does something to you. So far, the management has handled everything correctly. Perhaps they already know that the boyfriend is a trouble maker and are just waiting for him to make a mistake.

Stephanie is right. Don't say a word about this to add fuel to the fire. Let them burn themselves out. They will in due time self destruct.

I also agree with Stephanie, report what is going on with the Assistant Manager. If you continue to be harassed then go to the manager and so on until the harassment stops. If you get fired or disciplined for this, then it will be time to get an attorney.

It was said that the boyfriend had threatened me by saying that I better leave his girlfriend alone. I have 5 wittnesses to this as being the truth. Two of them work with me in dairy. He is also good friends with the support manager on third shift,so the manager rushed me off the clock, but I always stay because we are short handed at night. I think maybe the boyfriend said something to dohiwith itm. When I was leaving my dairy mananger met me at the door and asked why I was leaving. Also the other the girl didnot want to work with me so she was on the other side of the store. I donot cause ANY TROUBLE with anyone. I have people to back me up.

Ya know, get a hold of the district manager, it's obvious the asst. mgr. doesn't give a rats rear.....which is typical for the common WalMart Mgmnt. team

Our best friend in the world, she's a pharmacist at WalMart....she was harrassed by a vendor, she turned him in to the asst. mgr 4 times a 2 day period and NOTHING...SO, she went over the jerks head, went to the district office with a call and in one day, vendor was not allowed back in the store again :ggreen:

Make sure you log everything. Times, dates, people. This is very important for you to have the facts written down.

Lots of good advice!!! Use it. My son is without a job right now due to a somewhat similar situation and his own inappropriate actions. However, he has been harrassed in the past concerning his hearing disability, which is BLATANTLY ILLEGAL and even though he complained about it nothing was ever written down. Now he really has no leg to stand on even though he should "own" the place after what he has gone through. Be sure EVERYTHING you talk with any manager about is written down officially.

I hope that you told the dairy manager everything that you just said to us here.

Make sure that you document everything that you had said to a manager, etc. regarding these incidents. If things continue, ask for an official meeting with your manager. If things don't improve, then go a step higher, etc.

its so unfair for people who work so hard , have to go through these added tensions at work. We dont go to work to make trouble for ourselves, everyone should just do their work they have to do and help each other and co-workers along the way, that way the work day will go along much less stress less than it otherwise already is.

Good luck man, and as the advice before, LOG everything that happens , and times etc, so that you have that ammunition should you need it.

Seems like a hostile work enviroment to me. Make sure you document everything and get witness statements while it is fresh in their memory. Don't be surprised if some type of constructive discharge ploy is employed by your employer to get you to quit.....MGC

An excellent piece of advice. If no one believes you, show them a log of everything...or get some kind of small recording device.
