My Dad could use your prayers

#1 Postby weatherwunder » Mon Jun 30, 2003 9:04 pm

As you all may know, my father is the most important person to me in this world.

His doctor had him do a stress test today, and they have found some blockage.

His will need to undergo a heart cath, but there is a complication. About a year ago he lost a kidney, so he only has one. This procedure can cause damage to kidneys apparently, so a kidney surgeon must be present for the procedure.

He will probably have the cath next week, so any prayers are appreciated.

Even at 40 years old, I am kinda in shock right now, and have shed a few tears.

Thanks everyone!

-Jeff

If you won't be able to wait at the hospital, don't worry...God will be there, as will we all in prayer and spirit.

Jeff, you have friends in "high places"; never forget that, OK?

Jeff...he will pull through. He has you at his side, and that is the most precious gift a son can give his father.

Hang in there!

Jeff - praying already. I hope and pray they can repair the blockage with no kidney complications. His surgeons sound as if they're being very cautious. That's a good sign. I know what you mean about being shook up even though we're older. My dad was quite ill about 15 years ago and eventually lost his life to cancer and congestive heart failure, but even though I was happily married then and with a baby too, I felt instantly as if I was a little girl again. And you just think your parents will be fine and healthy - forever. So on that level, I feel for you too. Spend lots of time with him and that will be what he needs I'm sure. Keep us posted.

Jeff, I wish your father well.

Both my parents had heart catherizations and I didn't here that kidneys were in issue with the procedure.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it.

Tom, I guess it is not an issue unless you only have one kidney, which is the situation with my Dad.
