Two Hurt By Rocks Thrown At Cars

Three juveniles are facing charges after allegedly throwing rocks from an overpass into traffic on Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie.

According to Virginia State Police, three juveniles were seen throwing the rocks into traffic on northbound I-85 near the Sterling Road overpass. The juveniles were allegedly throwing the rocks from a wooded area near the overpass.

In all, six passing vehicles were hit by the rocks. Two people suffered minor injuries from broken glass.

An extensive search of the area turned up the suspects near Lewis Road and Route 1.

Luckily it was just broken windshields and not a 20 car pile up which it could've easily been. When I was a kid we use to spit over overpasses, even we had enough sense not to throw rocks.

Thankfully, I-85 in Virginia is like a little back road. It's nothing like what it is down in the Atlanta area.

This was happening in Pittsburgh on the parkway west alot over the last year or so. It caused alot of damage to vehicles traveling under the railroad bridge near Carnegie. I think they caught the person because it hasn't happened for awhile now.

Because of this, I taught myself all the back roads to get into the city. For months, I refused to travel the parkway west because of the rock throwing. And then when it moved up towards Settlers Cabin, I started taking all back roads to work. It didn't take much longer to get to work when I took all the back roads.

I disagree with forcibly sterlizing anyone regardless of what they've done, however I do think that they should be held accountable by the justice system, and have to do some jail time.
