Untraceable

#1 Postby cycloneye » Fri Jan 25, 2008 5:48 pm

I saw the movie it and is a good one to see how a computer site can do horrible things and go under the radar having many IPS that are unpenetrable to track. You can see how the viewers numbers rise rapidly when the bad guy opens the site to the public on the net when he does the killings on camera.Diane Lane does a fantastic job. I wont say more for those who have plans to see it.

I though you were talking about Osama Bin Laden!!! j/k

I have seen the ads for the movie and it seems to be really good. I will try to go to the movies this weekend to see it.

Honestly, the trailer makes it look like a pretty bad movie... I probably won't see it. I'll probably see Cloverfield instead.

I really don't see anything interesting in Cloverfield. Aliens attacking Earth is already an overused subject.

True.

It's basically...

War of the Worlds + The Blair Witch Project = Cloverfield.

But, I'll probably still see it. Untraceable honestly looks... kinda boring. I don't know. I'll see something.

Bring a sick bag with you when you go see it. The camera shakes so much thoughtout the movie that people have tossed their cookies while watching it.

Back to Untraceable:

Interestingly Rotten Tomatoes is only giving it 14% approval. 12 fresh, 72 rotten.

I knew this movie sucked about three days before the first post. Rottentomatoes is my #1 bookmarked site, so I'll just randomly go there are look at stuff sometimes.

Of course, there's always the fourteen or so percent that approve of a bad movie. You could be one of them.

I saw the movie yesterday and it's actually not bad. It's a suspense-thriller and you can see that from the first second in the movie by how it was shot. Aside that it's in Portland, OR, it's almost always raining and the color tone is pale to kind of dark. It's not a movie that will blow your mind but it's a good movie.

From the trailer, it looked to me like some oh-god-the-internet-is-so-scary spiel that you'd expect to be dreamed up by a paranoid suburban mother who watches too much Fox News. Oh no! An evil website! But we can't shut it down because it's UNTRACEABLE thanks to some CSI-esque hollywood psuedoscience.

If you don't get motion sickness and you haven't watched it already, Cloverfield really is a better use of your money if you want thrills and chills.
