Hmmmm...as I'm working on a big beefy burger that I just grilled here at work for our Fourth of July lunch. Loaded it up with ketchup from a freshly opened bottle.

It was probably just an accident... Here's a hint: Don't take the first thing on the shelf, take it from a few rows back, that way you have a less chance of something like that. :) Hope everything is OK, Perry. :)

Good idea to check things before we put them in the shopping cart. I agree with Colin's suggestion of taking a particular item from the middle or back of the shelf, rather than the front. However, what if the perpetrator goes for those items thinking that people will go for the items in the front.

My mother had told me about the tampered Tylenol laced with cyanide. This terrible incident occurred in Chicago, Illinois in 1982. I was nearly five years old when this was going on and do not have a recollection of the news.
(For the record, I do remember a bit of my childhood around the age of five.)

I have some good news...according to my cousin, preliminary tests indicated the cause of the puncture was a "boxcutter" type knife blade -- meaning it most likely occurred when a store stockperson was opening a case of bottles and accidently nicked one..

At this time, there's no reason to suspect anything more than an accident...no obvious evidence of any foreign substance inside the container (but final tests results won't be available until early next week).
