There is new historical data to show that perhaps there were people that were immune to the Black Plague that wiped out a third of the population of Europe. So any mutant germ could have survivors.

i have problems with show. It leaves out many variables that was probably left out for reasons for simplifying the "thought experiment". But I think these variables are important.

But who cares?? In 9 million (or is it billion) years from now, the sun will expand and Earth will be up the proverbial $%$#'s creek without a paddle.
