And what will this parent tell the child? I can't think of a better way to mess up the kid's head.

This couple is on oprah right now. If you missed it you can read it at http://www2.oprah.com/tows/slide/200804/20080403/slide_20080403_350_101.jhtml

Oprah gets ratings, the person gets the attention, the viewers, er voyeurs, get their entertainment!

It's a win win win situation!

I just saw a clip from Oprah's show on this couple.

A ? I've just gotta ask......did he/she get a - insert word that someone asked us not to keep saying - when he/she decided to go from being a she to a he?

If he/she didn't have this huge belly, they'd look like any other couple out there.....imagine telling your wife, oh yeah, years ago I used to be a she but I kept my internal organs, just in case.....

I'm trying to understand this story but it's a hard one to wrap your brain around. But there are so many children born to parents who do not want them, and it sure looks like this couple want to be parents. So this kid is starting out better in life than some.....just imagine saying though - my dad's labor was 12 hours long, or when my dad delivered me......wow, kinda hard for your mind to go there!

Mary,

From reading on Oprah's website, I guess the story goes that the only surgery he had was to remove his breasts. Everything below the belt is as it was at birth, albeit some features have "grown" a bit thanks to the testosterone. Check out the link CajunMama posted above, and skip to page five, for more details regarding his "parts."
