Oil Prices - Gasoline and Motor Oil

#1 Postby mesocyclone » Sat May 31, 2008 10:04 pm

Here is a question that came to mind the other day.
Why is the price of gasoline alway rising but the price of motor oil always stays the same?
After all it is the price of oil that rises.
Does anyone know the answer to this?

Probably due to refining / production methods and taxes.

Have you checked the price of motor oil lately? It's steady on the rise here. I use Castrol......it's $2 a quart....it used to be $1.09!
