Girl Scout cookie thief sentenced
The two teenage girls in February who robbed a Girl Scout. One of them was identified as Stefanie Woods. She was bragging on TV, now she is scared of prison. Too bad for her.
Her mother has the gall to complain it is too harsh.

It's really very sad. I just hope she gets some help because the way she's going there's nothing good that come from a continuation down that path.

It does sound like she is out of control and her parents are not helping. This is just what she needs. They will find a bed in a secure state residential drug program and until then it's juvenile detention. This girl needs to learn that there are consequences to every action.

Well lets see. She was laughing about what she did on camera after she got caught and now when its time to take her punishment she sobs like a little girl in court and blames her actions on drugs.
Oh and heres a classic: "I don't abuse all those drugs, I only have one drug problem with one drug," Stefanie said in regards to her narcotic abuse.
If that statement wasnt so sad I would laugh. She has no clue. The judge did the right thing. I didnt see anything about her expressing remorse so I hope shes confined for a long time.

She should be in the real slammer!
She was a minor when she committed the crime. That's what they base the place of detention on. People can serve time in juvenile detention until they're 21. Anyway, putting her in real prison would only result in her becoming even more of a criminal.

Shes already hard core as it is. Not sure juvenile detention is the place for her although thats where shes going to be held.

She's strung out. Roxycontin is the same narcotic as oxycontin. Roxycontin is an immediate release, where as oxycontin is an extended release. Obviously she knows nothing about addiction. Simple jail time will not help her. She requires long term residential treatment in a 12 step program. Recovery from narcotics is literally one day at a time. Relapse can occur years down the road. Interesting that she called the drug by the street name of "Roxies"......are they that readily available? I say find the source.....the dealer.......I'll bet she's ready to talk.

Yeah, she should go to the slammer. Well, here is the video that shows those teens not being remorseful.

Dionne part of the the recovery process in substance abuse is being held accountable for your actions. Her statement: "I don't abuse all those drugs, I only have one drug problem with one drug," tells me shes still in denial and not ready for any treatment yet. She is ready for punishment though and I sincerely hope this young lady is locked up for a long time. Maybe at some point during her incarceration she will wake up and see what her drug habit has done to her. Then and only then will she be amenable for treatment.

Denial is part of the addiction. Just because someone is in denial does not exclude them from being a candidate for rehab. Denial has many faces. If I were doing her intake assessment....the denial would be a key factor for a lockdown treatment facility recommendation. Jail alone is not enough.

To an extent the part I bolded is true. But in my opinion they havent gotten her attention yet. Which means she isnt ready to listen, a very important part of the early stages of substance abuse treatment. Quite simply, you cannot treat someone for an addiction when the person denys an addiction exists. Once the barrier of denial is broken down(and that can be quite an emotional experience) then the process of helping the person rebuild their life and live chemical free can begin.
And yes I have some personal experience with this.

Seems as though shes not serving jail or JD time.
Maybe she will get the help she needs here.

Her hefty drug problem, Samosa-cookie-money stealing, and gloating has ended in her detention in a secure state residential program.
"It's like a jail," her lawyer told CBS 12.
Maybe she will get the help she needs here.
