Brittney Spears's crisis worsens: Now under conservatorship

This whole media circus around her is ridiculous. I'm sure it's hurting her mentally.

I agree. Like I pointed out, the media circus is making it worse for her. Mental illness like bipolar tend to develop around the 20s.

More bizarre antics from her as word circulates on the internet that the Associated Press has prepared her obituary article (this is done in advance for all famous people and politicians) but it's interesting that they're doing this for someone so young:

Britney Spears' wild antics continued Wednesday night.

At 7 p.m., the singer and paparazzo beau Adnan Ghalib kicked off their night at Gaucho Grill in Sherman Oaks, California, where she noshed on two beef empanadas, grilled salmon, spinach and rice and a Coke. She also puffed on some cigarettes.

At around 11 p.m., Spears was spotted with Sam Lutfi. Police pulled them over for speeding; she was not ticketed.

Along with Lutfi, Spears — in a crotch-length spangled green dress, ripped fishnets and her double-breasted corduroy pea coat — then went to Ralph's supermarket and left with two carts of groceries.

One photographer yelled, "You're hot!" and Spears replied, "You're mean because you're being sarcastic," before smiling and laughing.

Photographers began shouting questions.

Q: Britney, what do you want to say to Adnan on TV?
B: (Thinks for a second) "I think he's a nice person."
Q: What was the result of your pregnancy test?
B: "I never had a pregnancy test."
Q: Britney, what are you going to do now? Go to college?
B: (sighing) "Oh, I wish I was in college."

Two random guys then approached and joked "Britney, you don't like black guys?

"Yeah, I like black guys," she said, laughing.

She then let one of the guys pose with her in front of the cameras and hugged him.

At 2 a.m., Spears, Lutfi and another pal hit L.A.'s Kitson boutique. The store was opened just for them. Spears walked out about 20 minutes later with three shopping bags.

The crew drove one block to Kitson's Men's store. Spears came out wearing a men's pin-striped shirt and black skinny tie, her hair in a messy bun, around 2:20 a.m.

In a fake British accent, Spears said to photographers, "Where is your driver when you need them?"

Asked if she'd do anymore shopping, Spears replied, "No."

At 2:25 a.m., she was spotted sipping on an orange beverage. A photographer yelled, "Is that a screwdriver?" She nodded and smiled before driving off.

Maybe it's not "bizarre behavior." Maybe it's Britney Spears being Britney Spears. When she was younger she was managed enough to keep her on the right track. Now that she is older she seems lost.

She's definitely lost. $65 million in net assets and she cannot see her own children. "I think I'll go out in the middle of the night and do some shopping and let papparazzi chase me.....that will make me feel better."

Jamie's eyes filled with tears when the ruling was announced in the court. The parents sat with attorney Blair Berk throughout the hearing and they smiled and embraced after the commissioner, Reva Goetz, informed the court of her decision.

Under these new legal developments, the singer's father and lawyer Andrew Wallet will now be in charge of her £60million estate until the next hearing on Febraury 4.

Commissioner Goetz told a packed courtroom: "It is in the best interests of the conservatee to have conservatorship over her person."

Jamie will have the power to "restrict visitors," have around-the-clock security for Britney, and have access to all medical records, Goetz said.

Goetz said conservatorship over the estate was "necessary and appropriate." She gave approval for the singer's father to "take all actions to secure all liquid assets including credit cards."

Meanwhile, the fallen pop princess has been crying in her sleep for her British boyfriend as she struggles to adapt to life at a Los Angeles psychiatric hospital.


Britney was committed to a hospital in Los Angeles in the early hours of Tuesday morning following months of erratic behaviour that saw a court deny her access to her two sons.

According to a Spears family insider, she has been leaning increasingly on Birmingham-born photographer Adnan Ghalib during the early stages of her seclusion.

The friend said: "She introduced Adnan as her boyfriend to nurses when she was admitted, and she hasn't stopped crying for him ever since. She was screaming for him in her sleep."

I think that this is a good step for her. She obviously has a psychiatrist that will take control of the situation and now her assets will be protected from her and the losers that have been taking advantage of her.

Her system needs to get rid of all of the crap she's been taking and then she needs some good LONG therapy sessions and the right meds to get her back on track.

Britney Will Remain in L.A. Hospital for 14 More Days, Says Person Close to Singer

Fallen pop princess Britney Spears got her stay in a psychiatric ward extended Sunday, as doctors decided to keep her hospitalized an additional 14 days, someone close to the pop star told the Associated Press.

Spears was to be released from UCLA Medical Center's psychiatric hospital Sunday, but doctors and a medical officer at the ward determined that she should remain, said the person, who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.

Spears had been committed Thursday for a 72-hour hold for evaluation.

Paramedics, flanked by a police escort of about a dozen officers on motorcycles, in cars and a helicopter, took Spears from her home to the hospital before dawn Thursday.

It was the second hospitalization this year for the 26-year-old singer, who has been in spiral of bizarre behavior since November 2006, when she filed for divorce from Kevin Federline, the father of her sons, 1-year-old Jayden James and 2-year-old Sean Preston.

Since her breakup with Federline, Spears has been seen at public events in short skirts and without underwear, has shaved her head bald, run over a photographer's foot with her car, left the scene of a fender bender, flogged another car with an umbrella and abandoned a car in traffic when it had a flat tire. Recently, she was seen sitting on a sidewalk, holding her pet dog and crying.

Spears was hospitalized on Jan. 3 after police were called to her home when she refused to return her children to Federline following a visit. That episode resulted in her losing custody of her sons.
