Computer upgrade

I'm so happy to have upgraded the RAM memory of my desktop. I bought the computer on December 29, 2006, and it had a RAM memory of 512 MB. Doing the Google RECON images was a nightmare because it was so slow. And then putting them in photobucket was another nightmare due to the speed. Since yesterday I got a pair of 1024 MB RAM memory and upgraded the computer to 2 GB!!! It's going wonderfully.

I also have the laptop with the Google RECON capacity just in case. I was using it yesterday before the RAM arrived by UPS.

Good choice. Increasing the amount of RAM will do more than anything else to make your system faster, and it's relatively inexpensive.

I was searching on Tiger Direct and found a pair of 1024 MB RAM for $64.99. It was $109 but had a $15 rebate and then a $30 rebate by mail. That's what I bought.

I was also thinking on buying a Video Card but that will be for the future.

When computers start getting their years, even though mine is pretty young, they start getting slower. I was using almost excusively my laptop but the desktop has a 250 GB exterior hard drive or data storage that is great. I also bough that in Tiger Direct a few months ago.

There is no better way to upgrade your system then upping the ram.. Thinking of it as having a worker with one arm.. You ask him to do something he can only hand you one thing at a time with that one arm, there for slowing production. No imagine a worker with two hands, he can then hand you two things at a time, cutting production time in half, then add four more hands to that worker and.. well you get the idea.. Thats how I always explain ram to those that don't understand it entierly.. The more hands a person has, the less time it takes to get things done..

Congratulations on adding the new Ram. When my son helped me build this computer he insisted that I needed at least 2 GB of Ram for Windows to operate faster. My old computer only had 512 MB of Ram and was getting so slow, it was maxed out on the amount of Ram that HP said that old computer could handle.
