4th of July Firework Sales

#1 Postby weatherwunder » Wed Jul 09, 2003 10:49 pm

My daughter belongs to a Masonic Youth Group the Rainbow Girls. We decided to sell fireworks this year for a fundraiser. The girls were thrilled and thought this was going to be fun.

Well, in 100 degree weather for 2 days, the fun quickly left. But today we found out that they cleared $1000 dollars in profit.

This somewhat shows what the markup in fireworks is though!

Jeff, I'd have thought she'd be a "Jobie"...I tried to get some interest in a De Molay chapter here (for coppertop), but the numbers weren't "there".

As to the finances, they are hard-earned, and will be well-spent, I'm sure!

Where did you get the fireworks? Buy them and re-sell them? Oh well, glad you got the money. Go on a trip. :D

I let her have the choice, and she wanted to be in Rainbow. She will be Worthy Advisor in January. So the work is just starting.

Yes, and it is SO gratifying to watch your daughter (as it is with me and coppertop) developing as a "work in progress"...but, then, aren't we all?

It really is a joy to watch. Sometimes a strain, but well worth every minute. I would not trade her for the world.
