Hi, I know this is extremely odd, however I have been a member of storm2k for several years and during hurricane seasons, spent roughly 2-4 hours a day on this site. Mostly lurking, I rarely post as I am just learning. At any rate, I got to know a lot of people on this site through their usernames and I almost feel like they are family. I noticed that you are involved in the choir at your church. I was hoping that you would pray for my family. My husband, who is 40, just died of a sudden stroke on Aug 15th. I am 32 and he leaves behing two boys ages 5 and 8. I just need some prayers to give me the guidance to help them through this time. My husband moved us to Florida only a few years ago, so I don't have a lot of friends. I am sorry to go on and on, but it helps to talk and Storm2k has been a big hobby for me. My husband used to call me a Hurricane junkie.
I would appreciate any thoughts and prayers,
Sincerely, Shannon

Shannon, prayers to you and your family for strength and healing at this time.
I remember how difficult it was to lose my brother suddenly at 41. It will take time......keep your faith. I remember great anger and turning away from the church for a time. Coming back has allowed the healing to progress.

Shannon, I have lost many over the years; fellow Marines and most of my family. Lost of a dearly loved one puts you on your knees. Have faith and the courage to raise from this unbearable lost. Just remember there are others helping you to stand when you are ready. (It still hurts but together it becomes bearable in time). As you seen with the feedback here on this thread, just reach out to us & others, we are there beside you during this time of unbearable lost. You are in our thoughts.

Thank you to everyone! I am so fortunate to have a boss that has paid for therapy for my two sons with the Child Psychologist next to my office. My whole office has been incredibly supportive as well as the community. They have even started a trust fund for us. Thanks to all who have had us in their thoughts and prayers! No doubt these blessings are no coincidence!
