ICEBAR Orlando

#1 Postby JonathanBelles » Fri Aug 01, 2008 8:21 pm

From what I’ve been told a groundbreaking is set to take place at 8967 International Drive on August 13th for Orlando’s first ever Ice Bar. (According to my maps, this will place it somewhere between the Hawaian Rumble mini-golf and the Walgreens near Pointe Orlando. For a hefty cover charge ($35) guests will be given cold weather gear to wear and allowed into a bar where every item, chairs, tables, walls and even the glasses you drink from, will be made from solid ice. According to the official IceBarOrlando.com website, they plan on opening the Ice Bar on October 1st.

All of the above from Screamscape.com . How they will keep this cold in Florida I dont understand. Not a whole lot on the site but it will be quite an attraction. Sometime in the next 10 years ill have to make a week stay in orlando to visit the upside down hotel, the new Orlando Wheel, this attraction, the big mcdonalds, a few of the little attractions like the (my named) popsicle sticks, and a few theme parks.

I guess it will be like keeping the ice skating rink froze, seems totally possible but im sure costly.

LOL at the big McDonalds, we used to take the kids there every once and a while when they were little. Not that impressive really, although the kids loved it.
I had to google the Orlando wheel, I had no idea they were making one of these. How cool!!!! I would love to ride that.
As for the ICEBAR I wouldn't mind going there either, I have seen these on t.v. before. They even serve your drinks in glasses make from ice. Im sure its very expensive tho. Not so much for locals, but more for tourists who are ready to spend the big bucks. Sounds like a fun time! 8-)
