i won't edit this post...i'll just start a new one to stop further confusion ;)

Linda...since ya wanted to know what i meant.
I think other people hate america, bc they don't want the whole world to become mini-USA's. We see it all around us. Sometimes people feel that America pushes its ideals on everyone else. For example, we hear ont he news that people in vietnam eat dog. The next thing we know PETA is sending representatives over there to stop the "cruelty," when they should just learn to understand that other people think differently from America. Also...america has the history of almost a complete genocide of another race of people...who for the most part are confined to reservations to practice what they believe in. Not to mention these places are now pretty bad places to live in. Also slavery. Yes it was in the past, but people still remember this and use it as a reason to not like Americans. Thats it for now. I love America...its done good things to and for myself...but CHANGE is what kept us the way we are. The only reason our population grows is because of immigrants who do jobs that others may not. Great countries like Italy and Japan are slowly collapsing and losing their economic status b/c they don't have any more young labor. We are not moving forward because of backwards thinking...but forward b/c of innovation and open minds. So once again i love america to pieces and i'm not leaving b/c love america. I'm just tellin y'all why others may not.

You are speaking of Indian Reservations right? I KNOW they are a bad place to live in. There is a tribe of Choctaw Indians in the state of MS that own a pretty good bit of the casinos in this state. They also are taking care of their own. How do I know this? My son was given a scholarship by the Choctaw tribe for being of Choctaw Indian heritage.

How can others abroad hate America for slavery when they still practice that themselves to this VERY day? They keep women in masks and are not allowed out of their homes. Children are forced to work for nothing in other countries. Some countries buy and sell children as sex slaves and HOLD them against their wills. Why should we allow illegal immigrants into this country? To work? We have tried that and they struck us with our own airliners crashing them into buildings killing men women and children.

And it is not just in Vietnam they eat dog. They (Vietnamese) eat dog right here in the United States and PETA should stop them here first!! EVER see a dumpster at the locally owned Vietnam deli? NOT!!

you have to be careful JQ when you edit since it can be easily mis-interpreted. Since you were quoting me, or should I say quoting rainband quoting me :) .... when you did your edit and said "they"and "them", you are by inference, implying the author to be included in "they" and "them".

Here is your quote again for your review:

"They say things like this and then don't understand it when others hate them".

No...I do not hate you....and have never implied that. I disagree with you only.

.....as far as the tangent we are on now about loving or hating America....why is it if we are so "hated" around the world JQ, that everybody and their neighbor wants "in", and will do it illegally if they have to. I don't see Americans crashing the borders of any of it's Neighbors. They don't "hate" us, they are envious of us. Envious of our success. Envious of our spirit of wanting to be better, to constantly find ways to improve the quality or our lives and future generations. Envious that we ALL have the same oppurtunities at success.

I agree with that logic, but that envy is what is bringing terroristic attacks against us. That's alittle more than envy to me.

You best be deaf too, or you might not like what you're hearing. You also should be prepared to alienate your family and friends....unless per slim chance they are just like you. I'm not trying to be mean here, but if I compromise my values and everything I've been taught by parents I love dearly, then I might as well marry a man. You ask any homosexual and they will tell you the sex is great. So....why should we not experiment with that too? I mean where does it stop?

Welcome to the anything goes generation. All for one, and one for thyself. The heck with anybody else.

[quote="j] You ask any homosexual and they will tell you the sex is great. So....why should we not experiment with that too? I mean where does it stop?[quote]

Someone else brought this thread to my attention so I could respond.

You said ask ANY homosexual (*gag* at that word placing emphasis on "sex" -- I hate that), so I'm one and I'm answering.

It's natural for me, but not for you. So maybe it's great for me, but I doubt it would be for you and I'm not going to try to tell you otherwise. So why should you try it? You shouldn't!!! Why should anyone make someone else experiment with anything like sex or drugs or whatever? I don't care to tell anyone how it is for me. That's between me and my significant other. I've had people tell me how great it is to be drunk. But from the looks of it, I don't care to know. No one will push me to get drunk, try ANY kind of drug outside of the prescribed meds I may need for a strep throat or something like that, or do anything else that I don't want to do.

My parents raised me to stand up for what I believe in and to stick to my guns. I have strong convictions and I'm not going to budge on them. I was a strict abstainer until I was 27 (yes, really...I waited, even though I knew what I was). And I'm still monogamous and conservative in my actions.

I'm offended at the generalization that ANY gay would push someone else to "try" their way. No one pushes us to try it the other way. I'm grossed out at the thought. If children are raised to stand up for themselves and their values, we won't have a society filled with sorry losers running around following the crowd blindly. That leads to crap like gangs and cults and....ugh...al-Qaeda.
