Wow......bad fall. Horrible when a team roped together takes a slide.
This reminds me of the group of Japanese climbers on Denali (McKinley). They all slid down a couloir roped together.
Climbers have a "strange" sense of humor. The couloir is now nicknamed the Orient Express.
High altitude, above timber line is like no place else. Your not up there unless you love it. For some it is a spiritual experience.
Climbers die all the time on Mount Blanc. They know the risks.
Terrible loss for Chamonix.
