Christmas morning and Jehovah Witnesses at the door!!!????
It's 10:19 AM on Christmas day. A knock on the door. We're all in our bathrobes. It's Jehovah Witnesses! I know they don't celebrate Christmas and the birth of Jesus. Why in the world would they pick this day and time to peddle their literature? It was all I could do not to be rude. Gimme a break!!!! We didn't get home from midnight Mass at Cathedral until almost 2 AM.

I'm agnostic, you don't see me banging on peoples doors telling them that their beliefs are wrong on Christmas, or any day for that matter. What a bunch of crap.

It's the day after Christmas and now I will respond. What the heck is wrong with these people? That was downright rude what they did Dionne. Why do they insists of ramming their religion down other peoples throat? There is a jehovah witness church a few blocks from my house. Guess who's neighborhood is always targeted by the new missionaries? I don't see other catholics or protestants knocking door to door to spread their religion. Don't they see by the reactions of people that they are annoying them and they're not interested? Just LEAVE US ALONE!

Since JW has a very large population in South Florida I will say this - they are an accepted cult in our society, but as with all cults their members can exhibit some very unusual or untimely behavior - such as what Dionne experienced on Christmas morning...
A former co-worker (and fallen away Catholic) is an active JW, and she would not join us for our annual Christmas party - but would remain at her desk and instead don a pair of fake eyeglasses (the kind with springy eyeballs), so, again, as with other cults, their members can and do exhibit odd kinds of behavior...
Some might wonder why this happens (as in the odd behavior of actor Tom Cruise -- a member of another accepted cult), and from what I've heard and been told many, many times over the years, when a person spiritually is in a dark place, their mind will follow and the result is their unusual or even dangerous behavior...
The woman who tried to attack Pope Benedict during Christmas Mass is another example - I'd not be surprised at all that the police discover that this woman has had some unusual followings in her past - she's currently being held in a psychiatric hospital outside Rome...
So, the odd timing of Dionne's Christmas morning encounter is not unusual, and the similarity with the timing of the woman at St. Peter's on Christmas Eve is not coincidential, either, since these are people who's souls are completely convoluted and to them the odd timing or violent act is meaningless, and is why Pope Benedict did not address the incident, since he's well aware of who's responsible (spiritually) for such mayhem, and will not give him any "air time" - even CNN anchors, normally not very sympathetic toward the Vatican, were visibly upset over the Christmas Eve incident...
As my late sister (a once fallen away Catholic who returned to the Church in the early 1980's, and enjoyed every minute as an active Catholic until her passing 3 years ago) would often say when her family would have similar JW visitors to their front door - all we can do is pray to the Lord that the eyes of these confused souls are opened before it's too late...
A belated Merry Christmas to all here,
Frank

Jehovah's Witnesses knocking your door on Christmas. That's not cool. I respect all religions, but I don't respect annoying behavior. They come every now and than. Annoying. Jehovah's Witness believe that they are living in the last days of the world. They do not celebrate Christmas, Easter, and birthdays because they are Pagan in origin. They do not serve in the military or take donated blood. They believe Jehovah is the true God.

Wow, that's pretty bold.
Me and my youngest were outside the day after New Years trying to clean
up some of the mess from the festivities on NYEve and I saw them about to
make their rounds down my street. I said come on lets hide, and we ran
down the driveway to the backyard. I made sure to leave the dogs outside as
well so they would keep them on the outside of the fence.....hopefully. I have
had them come in regardless. And my daughter who's 7 said you are so mean
mommy. LOL. I tried to explain to her that we have our own church and beliefs
and she doesn't get it yet. If they were to have shown up Christmas morning
it would have taken all my efforts not to be really rude. It seems so disrespectful
to me.
