Wow Dennis! I thought there was a water SHORTAGE out there again this year! Are your monsoons a little late this year?
(Have to admit....when I saw your hummingbird pics, I HAD to take a peek! Love those ones where they're sitting on your fingers.....I counted 12 in that one pic hovering around that feeder! My hummers are so territorial that only ONE can approach my feeders at any time.....they get chased away!)........p

Well, up until today, I was 3.01" behind normal for the month of August, with this little flood we just had, I'm now only .22" behind AND with the way the radar looks, I should receive that and MORE by nightfall, just as long as it doens't come down like THAT again, 2.79" is just "34 minutes!"
Petal.......I had over 50 little hummers hanging around up till day before yesterday, something in the air (autumn) is chasing them back south ALREADY! Of course, their normal departure date is 10 Sept.......and that's NOT that far away! In that one particular photo, if you look to very far right of it, you will see one just in the frame.......he had been sitting on my shoulder like a parrot!

Dennis..those were some potent rainmakers around all day yesterday. Humidity has dropped a few points here today...but still plenty of mixing to perhaps stir up some more rain later.
At over 8" for the year thus far...we are already ahead of average...so anything new we get just adds to the total.
This doesn't end the drought, of course, but it eases the short term.
Looks like Rocky Point got a real soaking too...isn't this about the time you like to head that way?

OH...Thanks a LOT Steve, you've got me *Mexico Dreamin'!* "LOL!" just kidding, we haven't been to Rocky Point since Oct. 2000.....we were headed there, in fact, we had the reservations made for Oct. 2001 but as we all remember that fateful day of Sept. 11th, that put a stop to our trips south of the border for an indifenate period of time. The crimes against Americans in Porta Peneasco has more than tripled over the past 2 years Sooooooo.......we've changed our vacation destination to Santa Fe, Taos New Mexico....
Now....I was looking at NAFD for today, much of the same on tap MAYBE even HEAVIER rains.......I got the anchor tied to the house and row boat ready "LOL!"

I swear.....after I made my last post, I went to read the paper and right there, on the FRONT page of the travel section, there's a HUGE article on Rocky Point "Sheeeesh!" Talk about making a guy SICK!

Dennis...I checked out the radar this morning...and discovered Rocky Point had been getting soaked...BEFORE I saw the morning paper.
Stephanie...5 am 7 days a week for me...
By 7 am my time I had eaten breakfast, filled one car with gas, and talked a half hour to my cousin in Citrus Springs FL!

I'm impressed Steve!
It's 5:40 am 5 days a week and sleep in on the weekends. However, when we're having beautiful weather like we had yesterday and today, I don't want to miss the mornings either. I feel that they are the best time of the day.
I agree with Colin - Ignacio may have a very wet future for you in Az & CA.

From too dry to too wet across Arizona; this along with the interesting track Ignacio brings to the area.
I thought I would share a piece of information... some of you may find interesting... All I can could think about when I saw "Rocky Point" mentioned in this thread was "Rocky Point Amusement Park" in Warwick, Rhode Island.
By the way, I am not fond of amusement parks.
For the record, T.F. Green Airport is also located in Warwick, Rhode Island; not Providence, Rhode Island.
