US Capital In Lockdown

#1 Postby GalvestonDuck » Thu Oct 30, 2003 1:40 pm

Breaking News: US Capitol Building in Lockdown as search starts for
armed man.

(This one came from a guy from an "hqda.army.mil" email address. Haven't heard anything on the radio. And since I'm at work, can't check Fox News or MSNBC.)

Oh my! It's on Fox News right now. I just tuned in. Police are searching for a 140 pound armed gunman. They have orders to take him down as warranted.

He's in the Cannon House Building and also had a backpack.

News on the radio just said they didn't know if it was male or female (chances are better that it's a male though). Either ran past or avoided going through a security checkpoint. Had a backpack and what looked like a .38 caliber gun.

This person is either totally mental, totally committed to killing someone, totally suicidal, or all three.

GD....they're looking for a man and a woman. They've given a description of both of them.

**BREAKING NEWS**

Preliminary reports are that 2 suspects are in custody and they found a "toy" gun. It looks like this event is over.

They are extremely warped if the gun is really a toy. Not only will they spend years in federal prison for a stunt like that....but risked being shot to death by Capitol police who had no idea the gun wasn't real.

Those two people under arrest are among the craziest on earth.

Trick-or-Treat!! In this day an age, if true, those folks were stupid.

Thank goodness that they caught the people. We dont' need armed citizens running around the Capitol.

I believe (and I didn't read the article yet... just what I heard) that there is some sort of party inside that building. So... not really crazy.

What amazes me is how this story has changed , we went from a man with a backpack running away from security after his gun was discovered to 2 women with a toy gun as part of there Halloween costume:):)
