Another infamous area (regarding I-75 that is) is the Cut-in-the-Hill area of northern Kentucky...when there's been an accident or vehicle breakdown...talk about the back-up, also! :eek:

There have been many wrecks on I-75 at Dixie Hwy here in KY...most if not all involving trucks...also I know what Miss Mary is talking about as far as the Brent Spence...that's a bad bridge to cross...

Jeremy - yes I did see that report. And I read the indepth one in the Enquirer too. Let's just say the Brent Spence bridge is okay to travel on for now, but you'd better have your wits about you when you're on it.

Eric - I agree the cut in the hill, going north or southbound, is always dangerous. Engineers tried straightening it out a while back but it still backs up and drivers still travel too fast on it.

I haven't been on either in years! We use the I 471 bridge all the time now.

Another spot I don't like, no bridge involved though, is thru Lockland (a suburb of Cincinnati). They nicknamed it the Lockland Canyon, you have walls on either side of you. I've never liked driving thru there! And I've been driving for over 30 years now. Wow, that sounds old. LOL

I read part 2 in the paper...I just looked at pt. 1...

Mary what they did was they straightened the "S" curve in Ft. Mitchell...too many trucks were flipping there...as far as the Canyon, that's a close space...think it's 2 lanes thru there, you talk about scary, whoa...

Mary - Is the Lockland Canyon that area near some industries like a mattress factory (if I recall correctly) and the artery there is I-75?

Been awhile since I left southwest Ohio (1985). :wink:

It's near General Electric's engine plant in Evendale...also it is north of the Cross-County Highway (I lived just south of there in Groesbeck 1986-91).

Thank you, Jeremy. :) I'd been through Evendale on numerous occasions...have some good friends who live there...and also commuted through there to Blue Ash from Hamilton when I worked for a year and one month (9/84-10/85) at the Whiting Manufacturing plant there on Carver Road. :wink:

Mary, Jeremy, Eric,

A friend of mine drove up from Virginia a few weeks ago
and she commented that the Brent Spence is the most
congested and dangerous area she has ever driven through.

Another spot here that has been a problem especially
with truck wrecks is I71 south at the Lytle tunnel curve.

Also the AA highway between here and Maysville, KY has
seen it's share of bad wrecks since it was finished in the late
80s, most due to fog and lack of lighting I believe.

You're welcome Jeremy, part of my Mom's family
is from Pendleton County down near Carntown & Foster, KY
and I have a cousin who owns a farm near there.
My great great great grandparents are buried in a
cemetery near AA highway and Rt 154.

My grandparents live off of the AA, on Licking Pike, which is about 1 mile south of I-275.........
