not sure who Kim B is but I find the show quite funny. How some people can act like that on a blind date with cameras running is beyond me.

JUST KIDDING!!! :) Gwen Stefani, eh? Nice arms, I suppose.

What part of "JUST KIDDING!!!" did someone here not understand? How is this any different than HurricaneDude talking about what he could do for Faith Hill, when we all know she's married. I KNOW he's not serious. Jacki knows I'm not serious. But apparently someone thought I was serious. Could you explain to me why you were confused? Now I know I'm not that intimidating. I dressed up as a bunny for Halloween. How intimidating is that?

This all goes back to what I said about things being misunderstood. But tell me....HOW can "JUST KIDDING" stated so clearly be misunderstood?

Anyone?

I'll offer my 2 cents worth since your asking. I recognized it as humor, but at the same time thought it was as ill advised as me telling azsnowman he's got him some nice biceps! <---- Just Kidding

He knows its a joke, everybody knows I'm kidding, because...I'm straight!
You are not, and your comment as innocent as it may have seemed at the time you typed it, I could imagine would give some straight women on this board, that uneasy feeling... not so different than the knowledge that one of the boys in the shower room is gay, and you've caught him eyeing your privates.

?????????

Well, how about this -
She knows it's a joke, everybody OUGHT to know I'm kidding, because...I CLEARLY SAID SO in big capital letters, not because I'm gay or straight.

I didn't make a vulgar, abusive, or attacking comment. I think some people must be just a little too uncomfortable with themselves if they allowed it to bother them. You can comment about Alan Jackson and Jacki can comment about Gwen Stefani, but I can't make an equally innocent comment simply because I'm not straight? That's a double standard. If the comment was about religion and if I was Jewish and if I told Jacki to "Come to the other side...," would people be scared about that also?

I've been told this is about other members who want me to tone down my arguments against the homophobic debate because it's not "family-oriented." Well, there's another argument in itself about what's "family-oriented." I don't get vulgar or obscene. I don't talk about certain acts or "eyeing" anyone's privates, as you said. It's simply not my style, even on other boards where I'm a member and the discussion is more open-minded.

I've been told it's because of the "age range" of some of the members. And yet, I've seen a few things allowed here that bordered on "mature" content...more so than my comment. Unlike your example about AZSnowman's biceps, I didn't even comment about anything physical or sexual. There was even a poll earlier about what men were attracted to first in women (and yes I engaged in that thread). How was that any less mature than what I said?

I've been told now by you it's because of the "straight women on this board" who might get an uneasy feeling. Why? A large majority of them are married or dating and yet some of the men on the board can make flirtatious comments to them? I think that's more of a threat to their marriages and less "family-oriented" than my less-than-flirtatious comment to Jacki. If a guy saw my comment directed towards his girlfriend, chances are he'd laugh also, because he knows better and it's clear that I do too. However, if a guy saw some of the comments posted here by another guy to his girlfriend, he'd probably want to question what's going on because the lack of a threat is not as evident.

No one should have felt threatened or offended by my comment. If they were, so be it. I'm praying for their peace of mind and happiness. It was only directed towards Jacki and she clearly was cool with it and mature enough to laugh about it. If we’re going to be intolerant (or scared) of different views here, then should I request that anyone who is liberal or anti-American not share their views because it gives me “an uneasy feeling?"

I've seen no homophobic debate to tone down. There is however a very real difference of opinion. Your decision to take private comments which were intended to bring a potential touchy issue to your attention and make it a public issue is not in the board's best interest IMO.

I feel that it is in our best interest, if it helps us communicate and gain an understanding of what's offensive and what makes people uncomfortable. I was being told that anything "gay" made some people uncomfortable. And yet, I rarely start any kind of gay-related thread (I can name one). How can I be to blame for bringing up the "uncomfortable" subject then?

I don't have a rainbow bumper sticker on my car and I don't go march in some parade on St. Paddy's day. I'm not active in the whole "movement" for gay rights. I'm Republican and I have more important issues that I'm concerned about as a Republican. To be quite honest, I get sick of hearing gay news. Sodomy law overturned in Texas...Gay bishop consecrated in Massachusetts...and on and on and on. If they really want to be accepted and show that they live "normal" lives by going to work, paying taxes, and what not, then they should just do it, blend into the world, and quit making such a big deal out of normal, everyday things. "Oooh, look at me! I went to the store and bought a gallon of milk!" Yay for you...big deal!

However, being one of them, if there is a debate or generalization made, I'm going to express my opinion as one of them. Not because I want to make anyone uncomfortable, but because I'm extremely opinionated. One of my coworkers once called me a Republican Julia Sugarbake ("Designing Women") because of my opinionated rants. Whether it's abortion, homosexuality, gun control, the war in Iraq, spiritual abuse and cults, crime, legalization of watermelon seed-spitting, or Coke v. Pepsi, I'm probably going to have an opinion and I enjoy engaging in spirited, civil debates on those issues. (BTW, Pepsi!)

If one of the reasons this board was created was to allow civil, respectable debates without fear of being flamed, then at least two sides of an argument should be allowed in order for the subject to be debated. And if that subject makes people uncomfortable, then NEITHER side should be brought up.

The whole issue allegedly started with my comment to Jacki. No one complained when I posted who I thought the gallery babes were (or if they did, I didn't hear about it). No one has complained during all the debates I've been involved in over the past several months (or once again, if they did, I didn't hear about it).

I am simply trying to gain an understanding of what we all feel comfortable with and what we don't feel comfortable with.
