How Many Wives Would Do This?

DAR ES SALAAM (Reuters) - A Tanzanian woman rescued her husband who tried to hang himself after she caught him having sex with another woman, a police officer said in remarks published Saturday.
The 35-year-old tried to kill himself in the commercial capital Dar es Salaam after his wife surprised him with his mistress, but the wife cut him down, regional police commissioner Alfred Tibaigana said.
"Rather than face the wrath of a woman spurned or the brunt of being accused of marital infidelity, the man chose to meet his maker," the Guardian newspaper quoted Tibaigana as saying.
Tibaigana said the man was treated in hospital and would be charged with attempting suicide once he recovered. Attempting suicide is against the law in Tanzania.

Wow, she's got guts!!! Bet she said something like - you're not getting off this easy buddy, not in English though!
I was actually pretty decent when I found out my ex moved in with g/f. I cried a ton, quite eating, lost a lot of weight, but never got physical. Yep, you read that right. Turned out the 'friend' he moved in with wasn't a guy at all (what he told me, the coward), but a coworker. I should have seen it all a mile away. Never caught them in the act though, so no Jerry Springer moment there. Dang it. LOL I can laugh now though, 20 years ago - ha, different story. After that awful time in my life I looked back and thought I had behaved fairly good, considering the crap I put up with. And funny thing is I used to think my ordeal was talk show material. Now I realize it wasn't bizarre enough to qualify!

Aww thanks Karan. I'm doing fine now, can laugh about my past and even share it with folks to let them know if I can start over, they can too! Boy that was a scary time, lots of tears.........but I made it. I feel like I'm two different people though. I am so different now from what I used to be. Just the other day we saw some odd news story, the husband was caught cheating but went to great lengths to cover it up. I just looked at Jim and said - now why can't married people just say they want out (perfect example, Scott Peterson)? It would save a lot of heartache, down the road, not initially though. But it's the standup thing to do. Be honest. Although in my case I know my ex didn't want out, he wanted it both ways - both of us. He was a little off his rocker back then. LOL

Great advice which i take to heart Miss Mary. Kinda was in this situation but not in the cheating aspect of it. More or less nothing there. Dead is the best term i can come up with. Thankfully though we can remain friends unlike alot of others i suppose. Having a child i think thats the best option for both us and him especially. Yea im still here for now in OH but that will soon change as well. The way i look at it you live and learn. I have moved on already and so has she. Which for myself i will comment on at a later time as now isnt the time to get into that. Lets just say im very happy right now!

I normally dont talk about my personal life on here but seeing how you all are family to me i figured i would share a little!

Stephanie - she cut him down, saving him from hanging himself.
King - wow, appreciate you sharing your situation. Don't worry, we won't pry but be here for you if you need us. I commend you for remaining friends, that's something to be very proud of. Sorry to hear it may not work out though. Sometimes a marriage can be saved and other times, it's best to move on. My parents split when I was 17 and it was the best decision they ever made. They fought bitterly for years and then the last 2 they were living in the same house, but separate bedrooms, they went into a silent phase. They just did not speak to eachother. There were days you cut the tension with a knife. So when they split, my brothers (grown and out of the house) and I all just let out a big sigh. They were much happier apart. That happens to couples I've discovered. But honesty is the key, IMO. Good luck to you!

Thanks Miss Mary. Your parents kinda sound like my grandparents.

Thanks again Miss Mary!
