Rt. 128/Lexington, MA radioactive waste incident

Got this via CrisisAlertNet email. As brief as it was, I'm guessing the sender sent it through cell phone text messaging and may have been near the incident or on the road.

"Rt128 closed Lexington,MA TT unit Fully involved Radioactive waste cargo"

TT is tractor trailer.

Has anyone else heard anything?

I think it is a short list of companies that haul rad waste. I know ours does not. You might find something on Google.

Nothing on the Boston Globe website. It's usually pretty quick with those things, but with the primaries nothing takes precedent

Well, with a little more checking, there is an alert, but it is not specific

Interesting information. Lexington, Massachusetts is northwest of Boston... Route 128 (also I-95 around Boston) is a very busy highway for those going into and out of Boston, by looping around the city either to the north, west and/or south.

I lived south of 128, off of Route 24, about 20 miles down that highway. 128 starts south of Boston (or ends) and loops west, northwest, north, then eventually northeast and east, ending (or starting) on the "north shore."
