How many people voted in Tuesdays SC Primary?

#1 Postby j » Thu Feb 05, 2004 4:19 pm

The figures are in. About 300-thousand people voted in Tuesday's Democratic presidential primary. That's much better than 1992, but it's only about half the number who voted in the Republican presidential primary four years ago.

Hmmmmm...I thought the Democrats were energized this year. :)

Missouri's primary was disappointing...only the GOP and Democratic hardliners voted, to the tune of 11% of the possible voters in the state.

Even at that, Bush came out slightly ahead of all the Dems combined.

It's sad to see that 5.5% of Missouri voters endorsed their party's candidate (split by party, totalling 11%), while 89% didn't bother.
