The only comment I'm going to make is in response to j who said that being AWOL from the National Guard was a way of life in the 60s. I don't know whether Bush was AWOL or not, so I won't comment on that. My point is even if it was a 'way of life', that doesn't make it right. AWOL is always wrong, isn't it?

I agree with a point that Helen made (don't faint! ), that the President is the employee of the people and he does have to answer to us.

President Bush is right - his record for the National Guard was brought up in 2000. However, as long as both sides keep bringing up each other's past records, then each side needs to learn to live with it.

Yes its wrong....I didn't mean to trivialize it. However....lets put things in perspective is all I'm saying. Skipping a few meetings, or whatever it is that Bush did, was not exactly on par with protesting the War, dis-honoring Vietnam Veterans, (ala J K), or how about protesting the War on communist soil (ala Bill Clinton).
