actually, i admire kerry and the dems. granted they have the press on their side. but they attack and attack and attack till they win. the economy is going great, but do you hear about it in the mainstream press? and you wont. where is bush? the white house is in panic mode, and has no clue what to do.

I have to disagree with your conclusions. You're taking a point in time which happens to be before the Bush campaign even gets started and making conclusions. There's a reason the campaign lasts until November. There will be a lot of swings before we get to election day.

a few days ago i made a post that it was a major mistake for bush to try and prove these baseless charges in the 1st place. i was right. no proof he has offered has mattered. i strongly feel the white house is in an out of control spiral. have you seen anyone coming to his defense?
the press has found a weakness, and they will bore into that till bush is done. lets face it.
bush will get no conservative judges through
tax cuts will never be permanent
the war on terror is over. bush cant do anything else unless he first offers 100% proof, which of course is impossible
right now, france, germany, russia, iran, north korea, and syria are counting down the days till kerry is president and they can either control us throught the un, or attack us with impunity.
this is a worse defeat for us than viet nam. this time every terrorist in the world can rejioce at our impotence. they know that with kerry in the white house, they can act unchecked by the un, since the un hates us as much as the terrorists do.
and once the liberals get back power, dont expect them to do what bush did(try and get along). they will not compromise, and for that i admire them. not for their policies, but for their determination.

Wrong again!

Number 1 : No one can control us through the UN. We sit on the security council so we have veto authority. Baseless asumption topped by meaningless rhetoric = drivel

this is not meant to get anyone upset, but i have been thinking about this for a few days.
if kerry wins, i think it means the terrorists have defeated the united states. the implications of that will be stunning, and disastrous.
this is how i look at it.
sep11, 2001 they butchered 3000 americans, in a well planed, highly co-ordinated attack. my guess is they thought we would be relentless in our pursuit of them. but look what happened. the dems and media, instead of joining bush in this war, turned on him, and have brutally and savagedly attacked him, not the terrorists. to put it in a nutshell, by attacking us on 9/11, the terrorists started a war in the united states. simply put, if the liberals win in 04, the terrorists win. and it will be a momentous victory. i predict the second it is learned that bush has lost, the arab streets will erupt in a wave of celebratory frenzy.
john kerry has said he will put
our security back into the hands of the united nations.

it is shocking that only 2 1/2 years after 9/11, the nation seems ready to forget, and just give up. we have so little in common now with the founding fathers, or the ww2 generation for that matter.

it makes me cry to think so many brave soldiers may have died in vain in this war

Sheesh! Neither John Kerry nor President Bush is running for Dictator, for pity's sake! So in the worst case scenario, if John Kerry <gasp> actually wins, there's still going to be a Republican Congress out there to effect a balance of power.

I had friends who died in the Trade Center. September 11 changed my life forever. And I have very good friends serving in Iraq right now. No matter who is President of this country, the terrorists have not and will not win. Never.

Helen, we - you and me and all of the other folks here on this board and in homes around America won't let them. You and I and all of us have that power.

Dry those tears. Hate the Democrats so much? Do something about it, then. Get active in President Bush's campaign. Hate the terrorists? Learn how to be a first responder. Our CERT program has a wonderful terrorist module now and it doesn't matter how old or young you are. Everyone can do something!

I hope you're getting my point. I am working hard to get educated about the election and its issues. This board has been a good first step for me  because I didn't realize how passionate people got! I haven't made up my mind yet.......I probably won't until we're much closer to the election.

But I do know that I am not going to let some terrorist scum scare the bejabbers out of me. Period. BTW, John Kerry's position on foreign policy is on his website. It's worth reading it yourself and not listening to someone else's interpretation.

Boca - this board was an enlightenment for me as well - definately not one for the timid. Politic and religion are always hot topics.

I love your posts BTW!

Good post Barbara! I for one have read his web site and there's a bunch of stuff that just doesn't jive.

“It is up to Democrats to understand and prepare for Fourth Generation Warfare - fighting unconventional forces in unconventional ways- so our nation can be better prepared to wage and win the new war.”
Senator Kerry is a strong proponent of providing our military with the resources necessary to meet the complex challenges of 21st century warfare. “We face critical choices in the makeup and structuring of the U.S. armed forces. Operations in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Bosnia and the Persian Gulf have highlighted changes in military tactics and equipment needs. Outdated military equipment may please defense contractors, but it won’t win tomorrow’s battles. A modern military means smarter, more versatile equipment; better intelligence; advanced communications; long-range air power; and highly mobile ground forces.”

No I turn to his record. (words are cheap) Senator Kerry has voted against every major military modernization bill. These include the B-1, B-2, F-16 just to name a few. When face with a web site message and I proven track record, I believe the track record.

RIGHT TO CONSULT A LAWYER. John Ashcroft has designated American citizens as “enemy combatants,” and has incarcerated them indefinitely without charging them with a crime, without allowing them to appear in court, without allowing them to consult with counsel or communicate in any way with the outside world. John Kerry believes citizens should have the right to a lawyer and that foreign citizens should be given the right to hearings to determine their status.

The people designated as enemy combatants were detained in Afganistan fighting with the Taliban and AlQaida. When they chose to take up arms against the US they sealed their own fate IMO
