Wow...just read this thread and ya'll sure brought back some memories! Of course a lot of the ones mentioned I've only seen on reruns, but not all of them. I used to watch Family Ties and The Cosby Show every week in the 80's. When Rainband mentioned Grape Ape, I think I got an image of him (huge purple ape) but I really don't remember much about it. I must have been really little when it was on. I remember Silver Spoons too...Ricky Schroeder on that little train....lol
I remember watching the Smurfs when I was little....I loved those little blue creatures. Looney Tunes, Flinstones, the Jetsons, Scooby-Doo...etc. etc. etc.
These days I really like SpongeBob too. He's hilarious!!
I also really like Dick Van Dyke....that show is also hilarious. (with many thanks to Nick at Nite & TV Land over the years)
And guess what? No smut! These days they can't make a funny sitcom without smut! It really is a shame.

Breeze - window fans!!! I grew up w/o AC, hubby grew up with it. It's always a battle in our home each summer, that is until it hits 95 and it's humid out. Then I'm grateful for AC. Here's a funny non-AC memory for you. The Post Office lobby in my community was air conditioned. So on very hot summer days we wanted to hang out there. Sounds crazy I know, but not many businesses had AC yet. Wonder what those postal workers thought of a bunch of 10 year olds hanging around. Today, they'd be suspicious, huh? I remember my mom saying she was out of stamps and I'd be quick to run that errand.
More TV memories: I loved Mary Tyler Moore's Minneapolis apartment! I was 15 then and thought it was so cool. Still is today, even down to that quirky M on her wall.
Watching the Fugitive with my mom. We just loved that show! Another was Coronet Blue. We got so into that show and then poof, it was gone.
I'm sure there are many more memories dying to come out but I'll turn it over to another poster......

Now those ARE Cartoons!!! I grew up on the Smurfs, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo and the Flintstones. Remember when Saturday Morning cartoons were something that you could watch all morning! My mom would yell at me a few times to get back away from the TV!
Sponge Bob Rocks! One of my friends is obsessed with Sponge Bob and I am too, But not as bad as she is.
How about "I dream of Jeanie" or "All in the Family" or Happy Days" or "Laverne and Shirley" or "Amen"

Well (fond memories), I was just 14 when Diana Rigg showed up in that slinky cat-suit in "The Avengers"...and I watched with awe (along with every other kid in the U.S.) as Annette Funicello slowly filled out that "Mouse-ke-Sweater" over the years...and at the age of 3, I was ON a local affiliate program which included the "Mickey Mouse Club"... which should lead some of you to vaguely guess at my age...Go ahead, I dare ya!
