Britain sets conditions for Saddam

UNITED NATIONS, March 12 President Saddam Hussein would be forced to appear on television to renounce weapons of mass destruction as part of a set of benchmarks that Britain wants to include in the U.N. resolution now facing formidable resistance at the Security Council. President Bush is generally supportive of the British proposals, White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said Wednesday.
