I can tell you from experience, after the fatal UK crash 5 years ago, the condolence book means a lot to the surviving family, crew members, and fellow EMS and hospital workers.

The news channels rarely mention these crashes and I don't know why. :(

I'm subscribed to FlightWeb's notification list. They send emails concerning any kind of EMS flight incident. I signed up after the UK crash, which I found out about on accident one day when I was working here (in TX) and went to the Lexington Herald-Leader website to check on any KY news. I was shocked to see the top story was "Flight Crew Perishes in UK Copter Crash." I spent the first few moments trying to figure out what copter they were talking about because I just KNEW they could not be talking about our EMS crew. Sad to say, I was mistaken. I called the ER and asked one of the clerks who I knew from my years there what happened. She told me about it and about who had died (names hadn't been released yet and weren't in the news).

I have heard/seen the reports of these small plane crashes on the cable news channel;
it obviously crossed there wires, but a lot of the other "major" news, kept it off air.
