Cold Mountain *sniffle* was left out of the catagory! *sniffle* And so was *sniffle* *sniffle* *sniffle* Nicole Kidman.

I hope Charlize Theron wins and LOTR.

Garrett -- have you seen "Monster?" I haven't yet, but I'd like to. I saw a clip of it on Entertainment Tonight and the transformation Theron made to become Wuornos was unbelievable. Wuornos was one scary and strange person!

I'm sure LOTR will take the most Oscars. I think Seabiscuit will take the second most.

I can't wait to see the Academy Awards show! Its hard to believe we were right there 3 nights ago! Too bad our flight home wasn't til Monday. :O) Granted security was tight, even 3 nights ago...everything was blocked off, including Marilyn's star :(. We do have pics of Oscar and the red carpet though...we'll be tuned in for sure...

The Oscars

#7 Postby sunnyday » Sun Feb 29, 2004 1:39 pm

I walked out of "Monster." I have never heard such vile, filthy language in any movie. I don't care how good the acting is supposed to be, I got out of there in a hurry!

Ever seen any Quentin Tarantino films? Talk about filthy language!

When you went to see Monster, were you aware that you were about to see a film about a deranged female serial killer, with a history of prostitution and sibling incest? The title pretty much says it all so the vulgarity should have been expected, especially with a rating of R.

Yay!! I was all for her! I knew she had it in the bag. :)

I mentioned the mis-pronunciation last night in chat. If I'm not mistaken, isn't it pronounced "ter-ON" with no TH sound at the beginning and a long O. It's a "seth effrikan" name.

When something like that is going to be emblazoned in that person's memory for the rest of their lives, you'd think the presenters would be kind enough to say the name right when they read it at that magic moment. Kinda like when they couldn't say Chloe Sevigny's name right a couple of years ago.

I have not seen "Monster" yet, but I watched clips of it on some show and I was amazed at the transformation... much like you were.

Actually, Duck, you can have a laugh on me. Our movie listings said The Monster, not Monster, was playing at the time. The Monster is a horror film about a movie being made and a monster coming to life in it. Yes, I love juvenile horror movies. When I got into the theater, I thought no one would be there, but it was full. I had no idea that it was a different movie than the one I thought I was going to see, all because of a misprint in the title and a wrong movie review to go with it. And, no, I haven't seen any Quentin Tarrentino movies. Thanks for telling me, so I'll skip them. :D

I can understand the confusion, sunnyday. After all, "Monsters, Inc." and "Monster's Ball" were out at the same time also a couple of years ago and caused a bit of confusion. :)
