What's the difference in Christianity/most other religions?

We (Christians) worship a savior who died, rose from the dead and is still alive and well!
Have a blessed Easter!

I'm not entirely certain, but I think Jewish people believe that Jesus existed, they just don't believe that he is our Savior. I think that is the fundamental difference between Christianity and Judaism. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, from what I have heard, they do believe that he existed as a person, but in their Talmud, a book of religious writings by leading Rabbis, they don't speak too kindly of him.

It is my understanding that Jews believe that Jesus existed, but they do not accept that he was the Messiah.

Actually, the myth of death/resurrection is one of the more common mythological archetypes from around the world. It ties in with the birth/death of the sun. A good book on this is to read would be "Hero with a Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell.

It's actually the book that inspired George Lucas to write Star Wars. Kind of heavy for beginners, but it's worth the read.
Perhaps look into another book The Power of Myth(also by Campbell) for a better introduction before you get into his later books.

I'm currently making my way through his Masks of God series...which is massive...and these are just some of the most interesting books around.

Look into the book, "Man and his Symbols" by Jung, as well. "Memories, Dreams and Reflections" is great, too...also by Jung.

Will, nothing personal, but I don't need some man-made garbage to tell me that Jesus did or did not live, die and rise again. The Bible is the only book authorized by God in which the truth is told. Therefore, I'll take God's word over man's word anyday :)

Only as a prophet of God though...not as a Saviour of people from their sins.

I never said Jesus didn't live, I said that the concept re: religion wasn't new. I gave some books that detail the history of different religions and mythology...it's simply interesting.
