GARLAND, Texas (KXAS TV) -- Violence erupted on a north Texas street, and Tuesday, police arrested more than 30 teenagers.
A grand jury indicted 34 people and 32 are now in jail. Police officers were out looking for two more Tuesday night.
Police said the 34 17- and 18-year-olds were involved in a violent street fight in Garland. Investigators believe it started on the Internet with threatening e-mails between students from rival high schools, Garland and South Garland.
Police went to the schools on a major roundup, pulling 27 students out of class and taking them to jail.
Angry parents said they have been working with investigators since the day of the fight and police didn't have to charge the teenagers. A dozen families hired Dallas lawyer Domingo Garcia, who said many kids are wrongly accused, pointing to serious problems inside of the Garland Police Department.
Officials in the police department said the charges do fit the crime. They said they arrested students on campus because they felt that was the safest way to handle the matter.
