For those who said no, why do you disapprove? I'm just wondering if it's like what Rainstorm said and he shouldn't have apologized or something else.

He is defending the military Helen. He also stood by Rumsfeld.

He needs to start asking Congress what they knew! He is not supporting the military strong enough!

I'm saddened that he felt compelled to apologize on Arab TV. In the weeks to come, he will discover, the world will see, that this is not the action of some unwatched and untrained military folks...but a deep-seeded philosophy of a military that has defended this country for decades. People all the way to the top will find themselves trying to explain that without the freedom to use psychological warfare to its fullest extent, we may be powerless to do the very thing our citizens are demanding.

Find ways to get the kind of intelligence that would have prevented 9/11.

Rumsfeld will be compelled to resign for having set the President to be the fall guy. And the pedestal the President and this country stands on will be considerably less proud.

Actually, I voted "Yes". I think that we still need to hold ourselves to a higher standard and I think that the apology was good - even though the Arabic nations look at this as a "weakness". I think it's apart of what Democracy is all about, which is what we are trying to promote over there to begin with. Unfortunately, no, we will not get an apology from those that beheaded that young man today. There's still alot of work to be done over there and I think now we need to get down and dirty and finish our job.

rumsfield is one man. he needs to go to every military base in the world and thank the troops. plus, it would be a great re-election strategy

I voted no because I don't think President Bush needed to apologize. This is war! If we beheaded someone, then an apology would be warranted. But not for this.
