Will you be off on Friday???

#1 Postby bfez1 » Wed Jun 09, 2004 8:56 am

How many of you will be off this Friday due to the passing of President Reagan?

Unfortunately, I will be working.
Wish I would have been off all week so I could watch all of the funeral events this week.

Nope, but I get paid for 16 hours instead of 8.

I'm "off" every day as well...I'll be in the air overnight Thurs-Fri, and suffering some serious jet lag while being happily reunited with my family in Florida...We will also mourn President Reagan on Friday though.

Well, we get the choice of either accruing an additional 8 hours of paid time off or getting paid for those 8 hours at the same time we work the original 8 hours. I chose the latter. I have enough personal, holiday, vacation, and sick time as it is. I'd do just as well to get a 48 hour paycheck instead of 40. :) Besides, since I'm part of the clinic staff and not "hospital" staff, we get all the usual holidays off (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Independence Day, and so forth). It's quite a change after working all sorts of odd hours and days in the ER. 8-5 is nice. :)

Oh I am off today because of the funeral. This has been declared a day of National Mourning.

I also heard OLV Catholic Church and First Baptist Church bells dinging 40 times.

Annoying, but it doesn't matter to me. Every day is basically like a Friday.

I don't technically work, I have the baby... So I guess that is working.. But I get to stay home and watch tv, do laundry, clean up,etc... Maybe I would rather have a "real" job!!

Trust me, a "real" job might be easier, but sure wouldn't pay as much!
