Did anyone see Nancy after the flag was presented? She laid her head on the casket once again, started to cry and said "I Love You"

Very touching.

Yes and also embracing the kids, too. Of the three eulogies given by their kids...IMO I liked Michael's the best.

Pburgh wrote:Duckie that was a great post. Yes, everyone handles grief in their own way. I had a tendancy to be too strong which was not healthy. Now, I'm older and much wiser and let those emotions flow.

I do think that this poor family has been under so much emotional pressure for such a long period of time that they are just "numb".

I agree with everything you've stated here. With regards to the section I've highlighted, I always remember the line in Joan Armatrading's song that goes, "Show some emotion...put expression in your eyes...light up if you're feeling happy...but if you're sad then let those tears roll down."

We tend to apologise for showing tears. Why? Countless times I've seen people on TV being interviewed about something sad and if tears start rolling down their cheeks they say, "I'm sorry." Sorry for what? IMHO, tears are no less legitimate than laughter. As a matter of fact, I believe one of the main reasons why women tend to live a little longer than men is that it's seen as okay for women to cry but not men. Sometime back I read that some toxins can only exit the body through tears. Could we be poisoning ourselves by holding back tears?

Anyway, (gladly) Nancy did have a good cry at the end.

Eric

I saw Margaret Thatcher, Tom Selleck, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, Bo Derek (who was one of the first celebs I saw at the first visitation at the Reagan Library), Mickey Rooney, Merv Griffin, and Scott Baio.

I saw George Clooney. He was standing right beside Greta from Fox.

I'm watching it on C-Span now.

**sigh** I know!!

That's one reason why I didn't make it to chat last night. I was too involved in watching the funeral.
