Houston alert

#1 Postby BEER980 » Sat Jul 03, 2004 8:24 am

Just a little warning for those in the area to stay alert or stay clear of the plant.

HOUSTON -- A Baytown chemical plant elevated security Friday after federal officials notified company officials about threatening chatter directly aimed at the facility, News2Houston reported.

An official with the ExxonMobil Plant, 5000 Bayway Drive, confirmed they are taking precautions over the Fourth of July weekend after a FBI spokesperson and the Department of Homeland Security's weekly general briefing warned of a possible act against gas and chemical plants.

Yes, this has been all over our news since yesterday. That plant is on the East side of the Metro area. It is a huge facility. They are keeping all contract personell off the plant site till tuesday as well as increased barricading and patrols being in place. Unfortunately, with our MASSIVE petro-chemical complexs we are considered prime target material.

I figured they got the word out locally, it was not covered on our local news. There is a bunch of stuff popping up on the threat list right now from nuke plants to refineries and a few cities as well. Watch your 6 and have a safe 4th.
