NBA rookie busted on drug charges!

Portland Trailblazers rookie Qyntel Woods was cited March 29 for possession of marijuana and speeding.

Motorcycle officers saw two vehicles speeding on an interstate highway at about 9:45 p.m. The officers motioned for the first vehicle to pull over and the second pulled in behind it. Police said Woods' 2003 Cadillac Escalade smelled like marijuana and they discovered marijuana ashes, police said.

Woods claimed that he had recently dropped off a friend who was smoking in the vehicle. He passed sobriety tests when he was taken to the police station. He did admit that he had smoked earlier and that he was addicted to the drug, police said.

Woods is scheduled to appear in court on April 24. His citation is the third marijuana charge for the Blazers this season. Teammates Rasheed Wallace (news) and Damon Stoudamire (news) were cited in a November incident.

Woods, who played his college ball at Northeast Mississippi Community College, is averaging 2.3 points per game this season.
