Why it will look like I fell off the face of the earth...

#1 Postby Pebbles » Mon Sep 20, 2004 1:08 pm

Started our new schedual this week with my family. With kids back in school, 4 year olds gymnastics, 11 year olds band and cheerleading tryouts and tutoring and me giving her flute lessons, my workout classes and daily walks with baby and housekeeping...Seems every waking moment is now 'filled up'. So don't expect to see much of me if at all untill things calm down a bit. And for any of those that pm/email me...sorry if I don't get back to you right away. The next week or two adjustment time is just going to be somewhat CRAZY. Haveing the hardest time getting everyone to bed at new times and the baby is teething rather bad so my sleep is down to 4 or 5, often interruped by crying/rocking, hours a night. So rather frazzled here. Just wanted to let you all know, I'm not ignoring you! *HUGGERS*

Pebbles - so sorry to hear you're frazzled right now. And rightly so! I was tired just reading about your busy schedule. We're busy with 2 teens and the whole college process for our senior. A different busy than you're describing but I remember when Nina was cheerleading. And her sister was playing soccer, same fall season. We never had an available Saturday or Sunday free! One Sunday we got up at 7, had breakfast, got dressed for church and then CCD classes. Quick lunch next, before a soccer game. Our last committment that Sunday was a football game but it was delayed 90 minutes, and a 45 minute drive from home. Once there, we couldn't leave. We all got home by 7:30. Picked up a Boston Market meal and when we all sat down to eat it, there was a collective sigh from everyone. Not exactly your schedule I know, but when things get as hectic as they are for you right now, I say do what you have to, and skip the rest. And don't feel like you have to say yes to the PTA or committee work - I learned the hard way how to say no to that stuff. That's a job in itself!

Bookmark us and when things calm down, pop in again. Hoping you can wring out more than 4 or 5 hours of sleep soon too. My mom used to say when my kids were babies - this too shall pass. Hated that phrase! But it's true. Time does pass.

Have 3 myself, with craziness galore (no more teething here though :) ) just remember you have to MAKE a little time for yourself. It will never happen otherwise.
