Great list, guys! I have a few hundred pet peeves, but I've learned to control many of them...

- People who incessantly scrape their plates and bowls with a fork, spoon or knife to get every last drop or speck of food...the noise and scraping drives me INSANE...this one all started with my dad eating ice cream at night when I was a kid (also can't stand people who bite down as hard as possible onto their forks...OUCH)

- people who chew with their mouths open and talk...on purpose..have some decency

- people who don't get it when I'm done talking to them, yet insist on talking my ear off...argh!

- semis who drive slowly in the fast lane, actually semis in general, hate 'em

- people who somehow manage to always walk in front of me as slowly as possible, either at the grocery, or on the way to class

- kids with fake IDs, this one drives me crazy too - why can't you just wait another year or two, it's not like you aren't drinking at home anyway...HAVE SOME PATIENCE!

- people who come up and talk to me when I have my earphones in and am listening to music - word to the wise, DON'T EVER DO THIS unless it is an emergency...I'm bound to smack you upside the face. LEAVE ME ALONE! :)

- people who blow smoke in my face

Dang, are you sure we don't work in the same office? Is his name Eddie?

LOL David, In my case, his name is Matt. He'll come up behind me, and stand there. Seems like he's afraid to interrupt. But how he does it is even more unnerving. I've tried piling files and plans by the entrance to my cubicle. Once I even put a piece of masking tape across the carpet and wrote on it "personal space line" It didn't work.

A recently developed pet peeve of mine involves the demise of the phrase "You're welcome." Is anyone else annoyed with "My pleasure" (the ubiquitous substitute usually given in response to a "Thank you" to a salesperson or receptionist)? Most of the time, the action they've been thanked for wasn't their "pleasure" -- it was part of their job!

Also -- People who believe sitting in their cars renders them invisible to the rest of the world. That's the only explanation I can think of which causes these yahoos to think it's perfectly acceptable to multi-task while they drive, reaming out various facial orifices (i.e.,noses, ears, mouths -- back molar areas) and then carefully examining the "treasures" they've found....

What can I say, I think everyone has pretty much ran the gamet.

Drivers who think they rule the highways (excuse me ma'am or sir, I pay taxes on the roads too), give you the Statue of Liberty gesture if you are in the right, and they have to stop.

People , in general, who think they are God's present to the country. (Well, they are one of them, one of 280 million.)

Another one to add to the list I've already contributed:

People who staple envelopes shut. (This happened today.)

Dee Bee - ewww, thanks for that image, but I agree. That's disgusting!

Forgot one of my pet peeves - hair in food. We have a Golden Retriever and I swear I can wipe down the kitchen counters, and within 15 minutes hair just floats back over this area. Drives me nuts! I now wash all kitchen surfaces with paper towels but we heavily recycle, so I don't feel guilty about that. Anywho, b/c I've made many a fuss over hair in food, my entire family loves to pretend there's hair in what I prepared. If they ever want me to lose weight, all they have have to do is that and I'm done eating. LOL
