Why cant some people be straight forward and honest?

#1 Postby Guest » Tue Jan 11, 2005 10:07 pm

This is something i have never really understood and it bothers me. Perhaps because i am too honest and straight forward? I dont know.

So why do people feel a need to do that? This especially is more true with people on the net it seems. Not everyone but a few anyways.

Often, the Net is a wonderful playground for many who use it to "be whoever they wanna be"; it offers anonymity, some security, and in some cases people will say online things that they'd NEVER relate to their closest family/friends.

It is also an instrument of "abuse of privilege"; pedophiles, spammers and all manner of disgusting things and people employ it for whatever gains they can...and too often succeed.

On the positive side, I had the GREAT pleasure of meeting AFLAC, and Coppertop met a young lady over the holidays...both proved exactly "as advertised".

Think of the Net as a double-edged sword...it has its good side, and its evil one...and proceed with caution.

We all do!!! As cautious as I have become, I still get burned or at least bummed out every once in a while when someone is not all or what they advertised. Remember the past here at S2K?
