And Another Friend Gone...

Another friend of ours died last night. This time it was a motorcycle accident. Scott Graham - or "Mr. Scott" as he liked to be called - lived and died just a few blocks from our house. Please take a moment to tell your loved ones you love them. You just never know.....

Jen, sorry to hear about your friend. You are so right about taking just a moment to say "I love you" to our friends and family.

Prayers with their families and yours Jen.

To compound on your last sentence, I almost got a first hand glimpse of that back in August of 2002 when my very best friend nearly died.

Sorry to hear of the tragedy. Your friend is about my age...still a young man in many ways...especially from my perspective. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Lost a lifelong friend of my own a few weeks back. We need to remember the good times and carry on with the things that were important to them...and in that sense, they stay with us until it is our turn too.

Take care.

Oh Jen, I'm sorry for your loss. That is very sad and hard to grasp I'm sure. As I've told you, my brother has a motorcycle. He has his "Harley" buddies and goes on road trips a lot, all over the country. He's 58, retired and his wife doesn't mind. She works full time and lets him go. So understanding. But when I read a story like this sad one about your friend, I realize this could happen to my family. In a split second. When my mom laments his choice of retirement fun, I remind her he's doing what he enjoys the most - riding his bike and feeling the wind at his face. Sounds as if your friend had a zest for life also. If it's any help, just know he was doing what he wanted to do. That doesn't make it any easier for those left behind though.

Hugs.

His bike was a Harley Fat Boy. Found out through other friends he was on his way to pick up dinner at a local BBQ joint. I know he took the bike everywhere he went - even on short errands - because he so loved riding. He was an extremely skilled rider and not one to take chances or drive like an idiot. The intersection is bound by large undeveloped fields full of all kinds of critters - possums, coons, skunks, snakes, stray dogs, even the occasional deer or coyote. Since no other vehicle was invovled and he obviously locked up his brakes, I suspect something jumped right out in front of him. Still hard to believe this is the 2nd friend we've lost in one month's time. At least he was doing what he loved.

Jen, I didn't even connect you guys till I read this, even though I know it is right out by your home. It did not make sense to me how it happened either. Just didn't sound right with no one else involved and it isn't like it is a hidden sudden change or intersection. Something was just strange about it.

Prayers for his family and for you and your friends as you work through your grief.{{{{HUGS}}}}

Jen, my prayers go out to you and his loved ones. So very sad.
Life is so short and a tragedy such as this makes us realize how important every single moment is. ((Hugs))

My prayers are going out right now for his family and you ,Jen. I came close to losing my youngest son in an accident in Jan 2000 when he hit black ice on the I 95 interstate in Rocky Mount, NC. You do not know how scared I was when I got the call from the hospital there wanting to know if they could operate on my son. I wanted to know why he needed an operation since I knew he wasn't sick(had talked with him, the night before). ZThe nurse said he had been in an accident and needed the surgery to save his life. He had ruptured his spleen in the wreck along with his other injuries.. We left that night after my hubby got off work to drive up there to check on him.
