Looking for a new vehicle to replace my car.... nothing wrong with it. It's just 5 years old and I'd like to replace it before it starts breaking down...
Looking at an X5, Discovery, or a Cayenne, any thoughts? Advice? Thanks!

I'm guessing you'll generate lots of responses today Sunny!
My next car is definitely going to be a VW something. Either a Jetta or Beetle Bug. Hands down....years ago I had a Jetta. Now I have a Civic and to this day, I miss that Jetta! For a simple 4 cyl. engine, it had ~power~. My Civic is a glorified lawnmower of an engine, I joke. I have to turn off the A/C and drop it into 3rd (it's a stick), to get up any hill. I have to do the same when merging onto the interstate or passing a semi.

We have a couple of restrictions due to size. My son (16) is 6'4" and cant fit into most smaller cars. So Hondas are out for us, as well as VWs. He cant fit his legs in the back seat...
The only vehicles we've found that he can fit into comfortable are the ones I listed above (and Lexus, which we already have...)
Thanks for the advice. It's greatly appreciated.

Well, that is a consideration! I remember our Jetta being very roomy, for a back seat. And the trunk seemed to go forever! But this was a 1987 Jetta. Eons ago!!!

Thanks, Pburgh. But I wont drive something HUGE like a Yukon, i.e. gas guzzling monster....
we just inherited a cherry 95 Bronco and it sucks gas like mad! (i wont drive it...)
the X5 is very appealing as it has decent gas mileage, is extremely comfortable, and looks pretty nice too. Also has the leg and head room required for the son.
we looked at the Acura and found it to be a little spartan and more like a minivan (ugh). will look again and see what we can find.
