Agreed. I told my sister to saty home. She had no choise. They closed the bank early and sent her home. Go figure. When the NWS puts out a statement like if you travel, you are putting your life at risk.

Sorry i didnt reply back all but i see Linda and Cajun let you all know i didnt go. Thank you ladies. :)
Good thing to. They were telling me at work last night when they went home yesterday morning it was awfull at best on the roads. Even the interstates had about 7 inches on them. One guy it normally takes him about 10 minutes to get home but yesterday it took well over a hr.

I went last night and comming home this morning they are still covered for the most part. Plows were out but didnt clear it all.

Ended up with 12.5 inches and the winds created drifts in some spots i seen of 4 feet.

When the freeways are in that shape, let's just say I am next to a cozy fire, and the heck with going anywhere!

LOL. Dont blame you. I have been out before driving during a blizzard (Blizz of 96 actually) and its frieghtening at best. Wasnt my intention to be out just was doing someone a favor and gave them a ride back to thier house from the bar and the snow had just started but didnt realize they lived a good distance. Halfway back it got so bad i couldnt see 10 feet in front of me and YES i was guessing half the time where the road was. Never AGAIN!!!

Glad you stayed home also Harry! BTW, do you still love the snowfall up there compared to what we get in in Ohio usually? :-)

I'll never forget having to report to work at 8 a.m., knowing a huge snowstorm was coming any minute. Late 70's, one of Ohio's two infamous winters, either 77 or 78. Snow was falling when I got to work but it was just starting. Schools were closing early or cancelling classes for the day. Snow fell all day and my coworkers and I just stared out the windows, wanting to leave work early but we couldn't. This was when I wished I worked for a school district, not a doctor's office that kept going. Left work at 5 and my usual 20 minute commute home took 3 hours. By the time I did get home, after changing routes a few times (we had 10 inches on the ground by then), I fixed a bowl of soup, fell into bed, exhausted from the very tense drive home, grateful no one ran into me and I didn't get my car stuck, only to have to do it all over again in less than 10 hours! We all joked at work we should have checked into a very nice, older hotel nearby. Looking back, I wonder why we didn't do that?!!! LOL Could have been fun actually.......

Better believe i am loving all this snow here.:D

As it stands right now i am ahead of what i got all last winter in Ohio by 17.5 inches! And as well this storm just put this area ahead of its normal snowfall in a entire season here which is 56 inches! Up to 57.5 inches for the season right now!

That had to be horrible driving in all that. And yep you probably should have stayed at that older hotel!
