Lookin' for Musical Recommendations...

#1 Postby Ixolib » Sun Jan 23, 2005 1:19 am

In the past, I've seen that many S2K members have quite an informed viewpoint on different types of music. So, I'm wondering if ya'll might be able to offer any suggestions on some music I could use in conjunction with a PowerPoint slide show for my company's Associate of the Year Banquet.

Last year I used Bonne Rait (Something to Talk About) and James Brown (Livin' in America - Rocky Version), the latter of which really got the crowd going. I'm trying to come up with something similar for this year that is equally upbeat and would appeal to a diverse group (18-65), but I'm drawing more blanks than anything else. :(

If you have any suggestions, I'd certainly be grateful! Thanks...

I think maybe a little more info is needed. How long is the presentation? Are you using the whole song or just a part of it? How about The Gap Band - You Dropped A Bomb On Me? Maybe the one you hear at Hockey games called Y'all Ready For This? Might Tina Turner - Your Simply The Best work?

Yep, Yep, and Yep!! Thanks...

The presentation is about 10 minutes +/- and is autorun throughout after start. In last year's presentation, I used both of the above-mentioned songs in their entirety and plugged in a transition slide to handle the change. I may go with MovieMaker this year so I can do the pans and fades with the still pics....

Thanks again for the recommendations - all three are GREAT!!

I suggest "Orion" by The Alan Parsons Project, better known as the intro to the Chicago Bulls games during the Michael Jordan era.

Thanks, LaPlace - I think this will be a great intro piece!! Will probably use about the first 1.75 minutes as the intro with some scrolling text, and have it BLAST onto the screen with the major transitions... Very cool!!
