And yet, I'm also thankful. How often do we hear of child stars who are taken advantage of and who hardly have a penny to their name by the time they turn 18? Somebody (or a lot of somebodies) looked out for these two and now they're multi-millionaires.
I just can't help but shake my head at the fact that they did it from infancy with the help of a long-running sitcom, a bunch of glittery pink makeup and clothes, and a handful of 'tweeny films.
I'm still in awe

Shawn! Smiling at your take on the situation. Well, when my girls were younger, they were into the Olsen twin movies, not to mention Full House. Now when they stumble upon a FH episode they laugh b/c all the storylines were so cheesy, but if you wanted good wholesome family fun (save for Joey, who would be not living in that house today OR be openly gay), FH offers decent morals and harmless laughter along the way. *Edit* I in no way mean the actor portraying Joey was/is gay, it's just that character, having no blood ties to anyone else in the home, seemed a bit odd back then to be living there. We've just always thought had FH been written today, circa 2005, Joey would probably be written as gay. He wasn't that masculine to begin with....just our own family observation.
What's also funny is there is a whole new crop of young girls watching these movies or FH, thinking in their 4 year old minds Mary Kate and Ashley are not much older than they are. We found an old VCR tape of one of the their movies. I think we offered to my 4 year old niece but Laura, said Mom we'd better not tell Julie Mary Kate and Ashley are all grown up now!
So I'm sure their residuals alone are staggering. For two little girls to start off on FH (and probably commercials before that), they're done VERY well for themselves.
