Monk - Anyone else watch it?

#1 Postby alicia-w » Wed Feb 02, 2005 8:58 am

Am I the only person who watches this? There was a Monk marathon several weekends ago and I hardly moved from the couch that day.

Monk is the only show I HAVE to watch. I was saddened that the actress who plays Sharona decided to leave. She was the best!

It is a great show! The only problem is that I often fall asleep before it ends. I borrowed the dvd from the library to watch the older shows. I guess I should start recording it so I can watch it during hours that I am more likely to be awake!

Oh.....I was wondering what happened to Sharona. I missed the end of last season and when I started watching this season, she was just GONE. Too bad. I got a big kick out of her, but I love Monk enough to keep on watching. I saw the marathon too. LOL...what a lazy day that was. I hardly moved!

I have far too many shows right now! I can't even watch 2 Lost episodes I have on tape. And I hear tonight's Lost ep is a rerun. So theoretically I could catch up on plots but again, I'd be 3 hours behind.......

All of a sudden, doesn't it seem like there are a surplus of quality, good shows on TV? Jim's trying to get into Arrested Developement but we have a conflict there too - American Dreams! Crimeny........

I have heard Monk is good too. Just noticed the actress from a long ago show called Two Guys, A Girl (and a Pizza Place), was added to the cast.

I watched most of the marathon too! This was actually my first time seeing the show - I love it because it's so different from what I've seen before. I never saw the shows with Sharona, but so far I really like his new assistant.

What I like about the "new assistant" is that she's not a nurse....opening the way for a "relationship", some time in the future? :larrow:

Monk's deceased wife, "Trudy", likes her...and "Adrian" mentioned that she and "Trudy" "said the same thing"...

Monk is my favorite show, but I was sorry to see Sharona left the cast. The new girl is "nice" and I do think the romantic angle will be interesting. The only other must see shows for me are CSI and NCIS.

I haven't tuned in to watch the new ones yet. I'm already convinced that "Monk" has jumped the shark:

Yes... suddenly my primetime schedule doesn't consist of internet time most nights.

Sundays-Desperate Housewives
Mondays-Supernanny
Tuesdays-The Amazing Race
Wednesdays-Wife Swap
Thursdays-Survivor(starting 2/17), The Apprentice
Fridays-8 Simple Rules

Last season the only thing I watched was Survivor, The Apprentice, and The Amazing Race. I find myself watching repeats of Desperate Housewives a LOT during the week as well.

Brent - we watch 8 Simple Rules too!!! I started watching right after John Ritter suddenly passed away. I wanted to see how they handled his character's death. And I thought it was handled very well. So well that I see that show continuing for a few seasons. Laura and I watch together. And she likes the show after it, Complete Savages. Have you ever watched that show? Laura's my tomboy in a way....so that show would appeal to her.

Traylor Howard, who joins the cast of "Monk" Jan. 21, is following a tough act.

Bitty Schram had been the scene-stealing, endearingly abrasive sidekick Sharona Fleming for 37 episodes. When USA announced Schram was leaving because of creative differences, money and a desire to do films, fans posted heartfelt messages of anguish across the Web.

my hubby loves that show and i get a kick out of it everytime i watch with him! glad to know what happened - will miss her as well.

Did anyone like the episode with Monk's brother? I would like to see more episodes with the brother.
