SW Missouri was turned upside down as a result of twisters. It is a day I will never soon forget and I doubt many in this area will either. It seems like it was just yesterday... my how time flies!

Here are some links in case you don't recall the event or weren't on the board at the time.

Finally, I must say RIP Dale Taunton! He was a good man who is still missed.

Mother Nature is a beauty and a beast.

Boy do I remember that night!!!! We were tracking all the storms/tornados live in your area and then I realized where it was!!!! Then we didn't hear from you for 3 days!!! Quite an eventful night!! I don't even remember how late I went to bed because we kept with the storms all the way into TN and KY that night.

Remember it well... that week was one of the worst I ever experienced. The same system began hammering North Alabama on the 5th but it took 2 1/2 days before I saw a drop of rain from it(and I'm only in the Central part of the state). There's a big river that runs through here that flows from north to south. All the rain in the preceding days caused the river to be near flood stage, then the night of the 7th into the 8th, it POURED rain ALL night. Had 8 inches of rain and the river had it's worst flooding in 40 years. There were evacuations and it took weeks for things to get back to normal. Fortunately I was about 2 miles from the river, across a highway and up a hill from there, so it didn't affect me, but you didn't have to travel far.

Yes Kelly! I know it. It doesn't seem possible that it has already been that long ago. The Springfield News-Leader did a great couple of stories today on the anniversary that I found if anyone is interested.
